Hi, my name is Marge Herrig. I graduated from Iowa State in household equipment and knew I wanted to work with General Electric appliance. I had signed a contract with Bridgeport, but then Crescent Electric sent a letter to Iowa State asking for two home economists to come and demonstrate their appliances, which happened to be General Electric. I thought that would be a lot closer to home so I signed up with Crescent and that’s how I got to Dubuque.

I got involved in the community right away because my dad always told me you can raise as good as children as you want to but if you send them out into the world or a church where there isn’t good living, they won’t stay good. I love to be involved.
